You should only spray Optrex ActiMist™ Eye Spray onto closed eyes, but if you get it on your open eye, don't worry. It may string a little at first but this will soon pass and it won't harm your eyes.

How do I know it's working?

Optrex ActiMist™ Eye Spray is unlike eye drops or artificial tears, which flood the eye with moisture right away - so it takes a little getting used to. You can rest assured however that as soon as it enters the eye it gets to work repairing the tear film and providing clinically proven relief of dry eye symptoms.

Why does Optrex ActiMist™ Eye Spray smell slightly?

Optrex ActiMist™ Eye Spray is an oil-based product, so you may notice a slightly oily smell when you first spray it on your closed eyelids. This is completely normal and the smell soon dissipates.
